Research shows that recent graduates under the age of 35 have differing expectations of their alumni associations than of generations before them. Understanding this new demographic in alumni relations is imperative to the success of our future members of CAU alumni. In addition to attending various Inland Empire college fairs to highlighting the benefits of attending CAU, we also strive to partner with the university regarding opportunities to engage and connect with alumni and to assist with the promotion and coordination of CAU programs and events. We remain steadfast in always encouraging multiple generations of CAU alumni to contribute their time, talent, and financial support to current and potential CAU student body.
We can both work hard, but also pay hard, as CAUAAIE enjoys socially gathering as we've hosted cookouts, outings, and mixers with the goal of connecting CAU alumni in the Inland Empire, but to also communicate the needs and news, and to celebrate the innovative accomplishments of CAU and its alumni. We strive in providing and promoting opportunities for volunteer engagement, professional association and career development, leadership, and fellowship among alumni, while also fostering a global university community in which all members engage with each other, our surrounding community, and CAU.
As part of our overall charitable activities, we have given thousands of dollars towards book stipends and other financial support for new Clark Atlanta University students in the Inland Empire to purchase books and materials needed for their collegiate efforts while at CAU. Through the money our chapter has raised, we've happily provided $2,000 scholarships for select local CAU students.
As part of our community outreach program, CAUAAIE aims to generally help other extremely low-income Inland Empire citizens who lack the basic necessities, with a strong focus on our local youth and students lacking toiletries, backpacks and school supplies. These charitable programs are intended for the benefit of Riverside and San Bernardino Counties, California, as we can donate food, clothing, and our time to many local causes under the auspices of our local chapter.
